My fourth Year In Review. Time has really flown by since high school. I am now going into my final year at the University of Cincinnati.
This year's focus has really been on professional development. I have spent a large amount of time co-oping and working part time this past year, and it has lead me to develop into a better employee with a more comprehensive understanding of workplace ethics, safety, and interpersonal communication. This comes mostly from work experience, but my classes this year also began to shape my understanding of these topics. My professional development class especially taught me quite a bit about inclusion and diversity in the workplace, as well as some professional skills to better communicate as a leader in my field.
In this year I also completed my 3rd Honors Experience by taking an Honors Seminar through DAAP and CCM called Bringing Ideas to Life. As a mechanical engineering student, art projects and music are not exactly things in my wheelhouse. Taking that class was one of the most educational experiences I have ever had at the University of Cincinnati, simply because it was out of my comfort zone. I was exposed to new software, editing techniques, artistic ideologies, and a group of people who are outside of my normal group of friends and students.
This year also brought a lot of scholastic success. My best semester of school, both gpa and comprehension-wise was in my 4th year at UC. I was able to increase my gpa, strengthen personal relationships, make new friends, start eating healthier and maintain my workout schedule throughout my fourth year of college. All in all I strongly consider this past year to be a success.
Looking forward, I am now beginning the full time job search for when I graduate in the Spring of 2018. I am also looking to graduate with my MBA next summer, which is going to come along with a lot of work for my 5th year. However, I embrace the opportunity and the challenge. I cannot wait to see what my next year at the University of Cincinnati has in store for me.
